¡Power!
Unless you have been under a rock, buried deep in the jungle, on a continent never discovered; you have heard of two M.A.G.A. hat wearing individuals who have been somewhere near the best of buds over the past couple of years. One, is the President of the United States. The other has been one of the top ranked producers in hip hop for over 20 years. One was born rich, failed at almost everything he has ever done, but used his privilege to covert, divert, and try again. The other was raised in the middle class, honed his craft during his free time while falling in line academically, until he made it. One was raised on the principles of Eugenics, the other… Christianity.
While it seems from a look into the backgrounds of these individuals, they could never be in the same room with each other without some type of knife duel, Kanye West and Donald Trump would more likely sit, Criss Crossed Apple Sauced, and play patty cake for three hours. The two seems to have become fast friends and have been taking advice from one another on issues relevant to each other’s benefit. Kanye and his wife has convinced the president to pardon Alice Marie Johnson. This could have been done through a grueling discussion, or maybe just mentioning that the previous president did not commute her sentence. Returning the favor, Donald Trump used his team to advise Kanye to make more traditional music and maybe be invited to perform at his inauguration. If I remember correctly, this also ties into Barack Obama since Kanye West was not invited to perform at his inauguration either. This is part of the reason Mr. West claimed he did not like the Obama family. He did, however, perform at a satellite ball on inauguration weekend. His friend Jay-Z performed at the inauguration.
During my workout a few hours ago, my brain went into overdrive after I heard one of Kanye’s older songs. This song was possibly the first hint there was tensions between the Barack and Kanye. This song had a lyrics in it in response to Mr. Obama jokingly laughing at Kanye ripping the microphone away from Taylor Swift at an award show in order to brown nose Beyonce. “He’s a jackass!” were the words that smirked out of Obama’s mouth. I took this as a joke. Obama laughed as he was saying it and so did a few others on the recording. I guess Kanye didn’t.
“They say I was the abomination of Obama’s Nation
Well that’s a pretty bad way to start a conversation”
It is quite possible that releasing that recording of Obama candidly speaking about Kanye started a downhill hatred of Kanye towards Obama.
Deeper in this song, I think Kanye left some advice for his future presidential buddy. There have been a lot of displays of power that has been used as a divide of power within the ideals of America. Most of the blatant displays of power has created a lot of unprecedented chaos in his reign. This President has been caught colluding with Russia according to the redacted version of the Mueller Report, but has enough power with his following to make that blow over. This President that has come to an agreement with the leader of North Korea in which Kim Jong Un immediately violated (Kim Jong Un has, however, never violated anything he has promised Dennis Rodman) with no recourse. This President was caught brown nosing the leader of Russia in Helsinki where he tried to blame America for, at the time, possible interference in the 2016 presidential election. We have since learned the presidential election was tampered with, and was done in collusion with the Donald Trump as the presidential candidate of the United States. He has benefited with the interference to become President of the United States. This will possibly happen again because a couple of weeks before this article was written, a whistle blower called attention to The President of the United States using his presidential power and taxpayer funds to try and pressure the President of Ukraine to dig up dirt on Presidential Candidate Joe Biden and his son, Hunter Biden. Not only did this start up Impeachment talks, it also implicates persons who work for the president and may result in a massive amount of damages.
This is where Kanye comes in. In the time before The Donald decided to run for president. Kanye thought of himself as a very powerful person when it came to being able to bring people together. Also, how that much pressure can lead to a person committing suicide.
“It will be a beautiful death –
Jumpin’ out the window…letting everything go…
letting everything go…”
Now, of course we know this isn’t possible, and I don’t really believe suicide is the answer to anything other than the one person who suicide impacts immediately. For the rest of the world, it’s just a big problem, however, narcissistic personalities are not. Immune to the suicidal bug. On a simpler note though, it is possible Kanye West left a message for his future presidential buddy in the song.
“No one man should have all that power.”
Plain and simple. This country was originally built on the principle that a president should not have the status of a king, tyrant, or a dictator. Presidents in the United States are supposed to be elected to uphold ALL STANDARDS OF THE PEOPLE, AS A WHOLE, INCLUDING THE MORAL STANDARD. The president’s power should not be powerful enough to even divide a country as deep as this current one has. The President of the United States of America should be checked and balanced by the people elected in the other branches of government . Times have been changing over the past score. I, personally, think it is time to realign the checks and balances the branches of government have with each other. Maybe this is one of the many thoughts of Kanye.
Maybe Kanye can take the M.A.G.A. hat off, since he, nor anyone else wearing the hat can tell the world when America was ever Great for all people living in it. Maybe Kanye can wear a MAA hat (yup, shameless plug). Either way, when it comes to the standards of why America is what it is today, Kanye West is right. No one man should have all that power.
Side Note: Pre Trump loving Kanye told the whole cast of Saturday Night Live to kiss his asshole. That setup and dunk was a classic punchline. If you have not paid attention to this song, go and give it a second whirl. Kanye might have went to far with his allegiance to Trump towards 90% of his audience, but that song was a powerful display of his talent.
