Rapper/Producer/Engineer/Veteran/Comedian/Podcaster
Born poor to a single mother, Holidae turned to male role models in sports and entertainment. He spent a lot of time growing up teaching himself how to dance, rap and entertain. His first crack at music was in talent shows in 8th grade. While Holidae was into sports and academics, it was his passion for poetry and regrettable inability to sing that turned him to rap. As he progressed through high school, he began making trips to nearby Augusta, GA to perform in talent shows and compete with other acts, some of which were famous by the early ’00’s.
After graduating high school, Holidae joined the Navy as an avenue to learn about his country. During this time, he continued to work on his craft and meet other influential artists, watching them work and understanding the process from the background.
Holidae moved to Charleston, SC in 2004. By 2007, Holidae retired from the Navy and started his own record label to help shape the culture as he thought only he could. Southin’ Comfort was started with a childhood friend named J.C.-Carlin, and a producer named Staggs. Pretty soon, however, the 3 went into different creative directions, and Holidae kept the record label and rebuilt it as well as rebranded it. Meanwhile, Holidae earned 2 degrees in the IT field and became popular in the IT culture while remaining a strong and steady figure in hip hop.
In an effort to grow the label, Holidae moved to Atlanta to bridge the cultures of Atlanta, GA and Charleston, SC. During this time, he continued to push forward and work in prominent studios as well as help some artists craft their skills under a non-disclosure agreement (so don’t ask him, he can’t tell you).
After a few years and due to family issues, Holidae became a duel resident of GA and SC. He is married with too many children to be able to fit in this bio and retired from the music industry as a participating artist.
Holidae started a podcasting network and has been working to bring multiple factors of entertainers together and create an environment where “Each One, Can Teach One.” The Distraction Network was formed in 2015 as a place where art, politics, sports, and all other outlets of culture come to listen to points of view as well as bring their own. The culture embraces conversation.
Holidae is currently creating a culture in Charleston, SC where writers, bloggers, reporters, and observers can learn from, and teach one another about each other.

Heavy D
Heavy D was born and raised in the Upstate of South Carolina. Heavy graduated with a degree in Mass Communications with a minor in Sociology. After finishing college he moved to the Charleston area to pursue a career in Information Technology. Heavy has a wife and 2 kids with one on the way. In his free time he is probably hanging out with his family or golfing or trying to sway someone’s opinion (He’s talking about you Dre). Discussions has become the perfect home for Heavy to flex some of his broadcast muscles and take a deeper sociological look at the problems we all face today.
